I’m finally trying to get back into the habit of regular blogging. May was a bad month for me illness-wise, so I’m hoping June will treat me better. I’m finished with hospital visits at least until July. I have so many posts I need to get to. I hope I have the energy.
Back in May, for cinco de mayo, I bought the big bottle of Patron. We had traditional margaritas and then the tequila sat around. We aren’t big tequila drinkers, mine due a college incident that involved me and half a bottle of the stuff; I’m sure you can imagine the rest.
So I began looking for interesting drinks involving tequila and came across this one. It sounded refreshing and I love cucumbers.
My goodness, was this tasty. Nice and cooling on a hot day. I could sit outside under an umbrella drinking a few of these.
Cucumber Margarita
Printer-friendly recipe

1 Tbl sugar
1 oz fresh lime juice
¼ c thinly sliced English cucumber
1 ½ oz silver tequila (I used Patron)
1 oz Cointreau
Pour sugar and lime juice to glass tumbler. Add cucumber and muddle. Add the tequila and Cointreau. Fill glass with ice and stir.

What an interesting take on a margarita! I am intrigued because I love to incorporate new flavors into drinks, but I get sooo tired of just finding recipes for strawberry or mango flavored margs. I'll definitely be giving this a go, sounds so refreshing!
I need a vacation to a warm place - and a margarita is just the ticket!! Wowza!
Love the umbrella. I still have to make those!

i made so many of those umbrellas. if you want me to send you some, just email me your address. my husband would be happy to see some of these gone from our kitchen
looks so refreshing!
This is my new go to drink. Plus a little twist on things. I had one version in San Diego in may, as well, called a conquistador. It had a little jalapeno muddled and a little cilantro for garnish. You get a little heat and a lot of refreshment.
